Essential to my Growth.

Writer: Mia RoseMia Rose

This week's post is about something I'm learning about as I go, but is changing my life one scent at a time. Honestly, as I write this I have two kids at home sick and I've been researching which essential oils to blast through my house to help us get over this ASAP. haha! I'm not the most knowledgeable about essential oils, but I'm willing to learn and anxious to get better at it. Back story...I always loved filling my home with the aromas of scented candles and even the melted wax cubes that could make my home smell less like, well, stinky people, and more like "lullaby nursery", "blueberry cheesecake", or "autumn sunrise"...whatever that is. I always felt like my mom game was strong when my house was clean and it smelled great as an added bonus. What I learned through my cancer journey, however, was that all of those candles and wax cubes include hormone disruptors that are really not good for your health. Considering I had an unexplained, hormone based cancer...these had to go. My cancer center has the best store called "Inner Path". One of the staples is a section devoted to essential oils. I will admit that knowing which oils to lather on where, with which carrier oil, has me feeling completely overwhelmed. So for now, I've narrowed my focus to replacing my candles and wax pots with diffusers and figuring out which oils to diffuse throughout my home. I'm feeling pretty confident and learning about which smells I like and what they can do for me. Below I've included some helpful tips I've learned about the benefits of different oils and what they can do for you. There are SO many out there, so these are just some from a quick guide that I've used to get me started. As I learn more about using them on my skin, I will pass along that wisdom. It's weird, but my diffusers and oils have brought me so much peace and I truly sleep better at night with my diffuser on! I honestly wish I had jumped on this path to wellness sooner, but better late than never I guess...

My challenge to you is if you haven't made the switch, just try it one space at a time. I'm up to 3 diffusers in my home and I'm ready to add more! You don't have to spend a fortune on a diffuser. Find one you like and give it a whirl...you won't be sorry! -M
